We all go through life hoping for the best. Hoping we'll always be able to provide for our loved ones. And hoping we stay healthy to do just that. But what if the unexpected happened? What if you were in a severe accident or became critically ill? Who would pay the bills if you couldn't work?
Those are tough questions we hope you never have to face. Planning ahead with GoodForLife can make the answers easier, just in case.
Get to know how GoodForLife works.
If you are starting out and looking for affordable coverage to protect your family, GoodForLife might be the right choice for you. This unique solution bundles the protection of life insurance with critical illness and severe accident benefits in one simple policy. You only have one payment each month and it's easy to get coverage because no medical tests are required at the time of application. However, your ability to get coverage may depend on the health answers in your application.
GoodForLife protects, pays, forgives and gives, whether life goes well or not so well. It's there when you need it. Here's how:
Protects
Pays
Forgives
Gives
- Protects: You choose a life insurance benefit amount of $50,000, $75,000 or $100,000 that Allstate would provide to your loved ones should you pass away before age 65.
- Pays: GoodForLife will give you $10,000 if you become seriously ill or are in a severe accident. The policy will also advance you up to 75 percent of the life insurance benefit amount if you become terminally ill and have less than 12 months to live.
- Forgives: The policy lets you skip up to six premium payments for any reason, without penalty, giving you breaks when the unexpected happens, such as losing your job.2
- Gives: At age 65, GoodForLife can give you back half of the money that you've paid for your policy. Review the chart below for sample amounts you could receive. 3 In addition, you will get $15,000 in guaranteed life insurance coverage for the rest of your life. And you never have to make another premium payment.

Questions? We're here to provide answers.
Critical illness covers medical conditions such as cancer, heart attack, coronary artery surgery, stroke, renal failure or major organ transplant. While you are covered, you can receive a one-time payment of $10,000 to help protect your family from the loss of income and to pay for medical costs and other expenses such as hotel stays while family visits. It's there to help during a difficult time.
If a severe accident makes it impossible for you to work and earn an income, GoodForLife provides a one-time cash benefit of $10,000 to help your family with medical costs and other expenses if your accident results in death, paralysis or paraplegia, dismemberment or coma. It's there to help when your family needs it the most.
If you're diagnosed to live for less than 12 months, you can receive an advance payment of up to 75 percent of your benefit amount, also referred to as a death benefit.
No. Benefit payments, known as death benefit proceeds, are generally exempt from federal taxes.4
